The National Union of Students in Denmark
The National Union of Students in Denmark (DSF) was established in 1932 on the initiative of student councils of a number of universities. The aim of DSF is to promote and ensure the interests of students in Denmark.
DSF’s members are local student unions from institutions of tertiary education of which there are currently 20. DSF represents approximately 115.000 students enrolled in tertiary educational programmes. Membership of DSF is voluntary.
DSF co-operates with a wide array of stakeholders in the Higher Education area. Among these are The Danish Youth Council (DUF), a long list of other pupil and student organisations from all levels of the educational system, The Danish Rector’s Conference, and various stakeholders representing the interests of research, industry, and academic employers and employees. On the international level, DSF is active through Europeans Students' Union (ESU) and in the Nordic Presidential Meeting (NOM).
